Flood Myths:
For this storybook, the layout was quite unique and interactive to readers. The Introduction places the reader into the story, providing detail and mysterious background information. The story is told from a first-person point of view, which is quite unique from the other storybooks in the collection. Onscreen prompts allow the reader to proceed with the story at their own pace and helps with story progression. I also like how readers have options with regards to how to proceed with the story, similar to modern storytelling video games. This gives readers some input to how the story proceeds. This gives way to a story that is open-ended with the outcome entirely dependent on the reader's choices.
Beowulf:
This storybook resembles a storybook that you would in a children's library. This storybook entails large, vibrant pictures of each distinct story to let readers envision what is occurring in the story. The stories are told in great detail below each depiction and helps readers to dive straight into the story.
The Introduction also provides clear insight as to what subject the storybook pertains to and hints readers as to what stories are contained within. This is a very well-organized storybook that readers would most likely enjoy, both in terms of content and overall organization.
A Kingdom of Love in a Lion Pride:
This storybook begins with an introduction where the author discusses her background with animals in the past, and how it reflected which stories she had an affinity towards. Progressing through the storybook, I like how each individual page of stories is broken up into detailed sections with subheadings outlining the readings to follow. Each subsection is clearly indicated by a different unique color which helps readers to follow along. Pictures and illustrations are also plentiful throughout the storybook, helping readers to envision the story and truly bring it to life. Overall, I enjoyed the layout and organization of this storybook and play to incorporate some aspects of it into my own. An example of one of the images used in this storybook to enhance the reading experience is shown below.
